Aditya Vikram Bhat

Aditya Vikram Bhat is a lawyer with over two decades of practice at leading law firms. A strategist at heart and a realist in practice, he brings to the table a simple philosophy: never over-commit, never under-deliver.

Aditya began his practice under the mentorship of Senior Advocate K.G. Raghavan whose practice was merged with Dua Associates. He joined AZB and partners in 2004 and was with the firm till 2024 as senior partner and head of disputes in Bangalore. In March 2024, he decided to trust his instincts and start his counsel practice and founded Chambers of Aditya Vikram Bhat.

Aditya considers himself a generalist but his areas of expertise include shareholder disputes, company law, complex commercial disputes, civil and criminal aspects of fraud (especially in the corporate sector), matters arising out of FEMA (Foreign Exchange Management Act) and PMLA (Prevention of Money Laundering Act), matters relating to the Prevention of Corruption Act and broader white-collar offences.

Aditya is currently also an Additional Government Advocate for the State of Karnataka and works closely with the Advocate General to represent the State of Karnataka in high stakes matters on a variety of subjects including indirect tax, constitutional law, service law, arbitration and commercial disputes.

Rachel - Managing Attorney

Rachel Thomas

For Rachel, the legal profession represents not just a career, but a lifelong discipline – one that continually demands her best and sharpens her perspective with every case she takes on. While she comes from a family of advocates, her path was uniquely her own. What drew her in wasn’t simply the prestige of the profession, but the challenge it offers: the need for precise reasoning, strategic thinking, and the constant pursuit of clarity in complex situations.

At Chambers of AVB, Rachel has found a vibrant, fast-paced, and collegial environment that nurtures her intellectual freedom and allows her to explore complex legal questions with creativity and precision. For Rachel, Aditya’s practice and mentorship offers the ideal balance of high-calibre work and a supportive community—one that continually pushes her to grow holistically. Her practice spans a broad spectrum of complex and socially significant matters, including commercial law, constitutional law, human rights, and environmental justice.

Rachel is fluent in English, Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil and Hindi. Outside her legal practice, she loves to immerse herself in the idyllic world of poetry, art and literature. A self-proclaimed gastronome, Rachel is always on the lookout for the city’s best hidden culinary gems.

Tanis Das K

TANIA DAS K

Tania may help you sort out your tax litigation, but she definitely needs a CA to help her file her ITR!

Little Tania, who imagined spending her life reading about the rise and fall of great dynasties and how people shaped policies, never imagined she would spend her twenties analysing GST returns and financial statements. However, somewhere along the way, she realised that numbers and finance can be just as fun as reading about great wars.

Within a year of entering the profession, Tania has gained exposure to matters ranging from taxation and insolvency disputes to civil litigation. She brings to the Chamber her experience in drafting and client management, and hopes to deepen her understanding of commercial laws.

Apart from drafting excessively elaborate emails at work, Tania spends her time exploring the nooks and corners of Bangalore and playing football, while also lamenting the lack of volleyball groups in the city.

Rachel - Associate Attorney

Krishnendu M.

Some journeys begin with quiet observation. For Krishnendu, the call to law was shaped by a childhood of watching her uncle and aunt frequenting courtrooms as lawyers. An early fascination matured into an obvious choice of pursuing the law.

An accomplished classical dancer, Krishnendu finds balance in motion. Aditya’s style of mentorship has taught her to combine her presence of mind to always keep asking ‘why’ and ‘what next’. Her friendly, fearless, and adaptable nature has made her one of the most approachable lawyers at AVB. Her career is as young as the chamber and it will only grow and bloom just like the chambers’. She’s one of the youngest adventurers at AVB.

Athira

Aathira A Mannath

For Aathira, the law was a calling long before it became a profession. Raised in a family of legal professionals, she grew up witnessing firsthand the discipline, purpose, and fulfilment that define a life in litigation.

What began as an early fascination steadily deepened into a core conviction, ultimately leading her to launch her legal career at the Chambers of Aditya Vikram Bhat. Drawn to Aditya’s experience, reputation, and approach to the law, Aathira considers the opportunity to begin her practice under his guidance both a privilege and a valuable foundation for the years ahead.

Beyond the courtroom, Aathira maintains a diverse set of interests that include her love for reading, dancing, and sports. These diverse pursuits instill a unique blend of curiosity, discipline, and agility that enriches her legal practice. Standing at the threshold of a promising career, she embraces the journey ahead, eager to evolve with every brief, argument, and lesson along the way.
